About this event

ACTive NGOs: Building community spaces for cultivating local ecosystems

The final event of the ACTive NGOs URBACT network “Building community spaces for cultivating local ecosystems” takes place on 7-8 April to present the network’s journey, exchange and learning trajectory to local and European audiences. The meeting, originally planned to take place in Brighton and Hove, takes participants on a virtual journey to explore civic initiatives, community venues and social engagement projects in the East Brighton area with the help of their protagonists.

The first day of the event (7 April), open to all interested persons and organisations, will introduce the ACTive NGOs project and share its results through a series of interviews, discussions and presentations. The project’s trajectory, connecting methodologies of stakeholder mapping, ecosystem building, civic spaces, governance, economic resilience and capacity building will be presented in a soon-to-be-published book.

The second day (8 April), limited to ACTive NGOs network partners and ULG members, will focus on the next steps of the local projects, aiming to enhance their impact and disseminate their results.
